To: Clergy, Parish Administrators
and Treasurers:
Please be advised that a letter with the bishop's seal has been
mailed to parishes and missions, which was NOT mailed from Bishop
Schofield or Debbie Matley. Please DO NOT confuse it with
correspondence from Bp Schofield's office and DO NOT follow the
instructions in that letter. It was mailed (4-14-08) from the
office of TEC in Stockton and directs the recipient to forward
parochial reports and assessments to TEC. It also provides
information about insurance. The directions and information in that
letter do not apply to Anglican parishes and missions. If you have
questions about the letter, your insurance and assessments, please
call Debbie at 1-800-498-4159. If you have questions about
parochial reports, please call Chris at 1-800-498-4159. By the way,
a significant number of Episcopal bishops have challenged the
legality of Bp Schofield's deposition by the Episcopal House of
Bishops (HOB), due to canonical irregularities and they would not
accept his letter of resignation. This means that the establishment
of an alternate Episcopal office within the Diocese of San Joaquin
at this time is illegal. More information on this is available on
our diocesan blog site:
http://sanjoaquinsoundings.blogspot.com/ Thank you for your
faithfulness. Yours in Christ, Fr Van McCalister.

FR. WOLF KRISMANITS WRITES:
:I really enjoyed the little paragraph in the Flyer with the picture
of the wolf that looked exhausted. I was, indeed, exhausted after my
swim on Saturday, and, no, I did not drown. I swam the 104 laps, and
although it was a beautiful day, the water was as warm as bath
water, which made my 45 minute swim rather difficult (I could have
used some of that ice which is underneath that wolf in the
picture!). Yet, I had 13 of my people there to cheer me on! In the
final analysis the swim raised over $4,700. Thanks to those of you
who pledged! And also those of you who prayed. Please send your
check to St. James Anglican Church, P.O. Box 1145, Sonora, CA 95370.
Make it out to St. James Anglican Church, and earmark it in the
memo, "fr. wolf's swim". If you didn't pledge, but still want to
give, hey, I'm not going to stop you! Thanks again to all of you.
It was a great way to raise some funds, but I hope nobody asks me to
do it again! Praise be to God!
APB FOR USED PULPIT:
Church of the Ascension, Copperopolis, has moved into new space!
They are seeking a “nearly new” pulpit and lector’s stand. If you
have something around your church that could be donated or sold,
please contact Fr. Jim Stout, Home: (209) 785 – 7099; CELL
(209) 768 – 0540; E-Mail: ascension@caltel.com
2009 PILGRIMAGE
TO ISRAEL APRIL 29-MAY 8:
Plans are forming for a 400 person inter-denominational tour of the
Holy Land next year at this time. If our clergy would like to know
more, there is a meeting of priests and pastors (with free lunch) at
a restaurant in Fresno at noon on May 15th,
with our Bishop, Esti Barak of the Middle East Connection (our tour
coordinator), and other leaders of this event. The basic plan is a
10 day trip to Israel @ $2,500 pp. with bus to LAX, flight, hotels,
2 meals daily, private tour buses with guides, and more. Clergy who
gather sufficient travelers may go free!!! Please contact
Fr. Bill for more information. bgandenberger@sjoaquin.net

Prayer Request from Bob Blake, seeking your prayers
for his upcoming trip to Thailand and Laos. The purpose of the trip
is to minister to Hmong people who have suffered poverty and
oppression since the Vietnam War. Please pray for the Lord to pour
out His Spirit for healing, restoration, and salvation in South East
Asia. Call 559-264-4369 with any questions. Prayer for Fr.
Martin and Rose Bunsy and the Lao Mission and Fr. Jim &
Philista Short.
Bob Stumbles, Chancellor of The Anglican Diocese of Harare, writes:
“A desperate cry from the hearts of Zimbabwe screams across the
world. It calls upon all Christians of every denomination in every
nation to focus their prayers, in churches, halls, homes or
elsewhere, on Sunday 27th April, 2008 on the critical situation in
Zimbabwe, a nation in dire distress and teetering on the brink of
human disaster. Please pass on this message right now to all the
churches and Christian organisations known to you and to the media
as well as to everyone anxious to rescue Zimbabwe from violence, the
concealing and juggling of election results, deceit, oppression and
corruption, and to bring about righteousness, joy, peace,
compassion, honesty, justice, democracy and freedom from fear and
want. May a continual strong stream of prayer and supplication
flow up to the Lord on behalf of all the people on this Day of
Prayer, exhorting His divine intervention throughout the nation.”

known that we recommend ourselves to the honest judgment of mankind
in the sight of God." (2 Corinthians 4:2)
